Spring Cleanup

There are lots of pecan trees that lost limbs during the hard months of the 2023 drought. Losing branches and twigs is a normal occurrence through the year but we had a lot more to clean up this year. It is part of our usual spring routine to push the dead wood into piles and burn it.

These two tractors are our spring cleanup helpers. They help control the fire; the red tractor is used to push the limbs into tighter piles as they burn and the green tractor is used to mow the grass to prevent it from burning.

The next pile to burn is hiding behind the trees on the right!
